2-day Budgam Fencing Championship concludes | KNO

Budgam, Sep 16 (KNO): The second District Budgam Fencing Championship 2024 concluded at Sacred Heart Public School, Nasrullah Pora, Budgam. An official from the association told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the event, organized by the District Budgam fencing association, witnessed a participation of 250 boys and girls from various schools and clubs. He said that Sacred Heart Public School secured the first position, while Soibugh Martial Art Club and A.S.A Safvi Memorial Education School, Mirgund, Budgam, bagged the second and third positions, respectively. Officials at the event praised the participants for their outstanding display of skills and sportsmanship throughout the championship. "The players demonstrated remarkable talent, discipline, and camaraderie, making the event a true celebration of fencing." Organizer said. He said that the selected participants will now represent Budgam in the State Championship, competing against top fencers from other districts of Jammu and Kashmir. The District Budgam Fencing Association also congratulated two students from Govt Girls Higher Secondary School, Wadwan, who have been selected for the 68th National Schools Games to be held in Patna, Bihar. Saba Nasir and Toyba Yousuf will represent Jammu and Kashmir in the prestigious tournament. The District Budgam Fencing Association has expressed gratitude to all participants, schools, and clubs for their support in making the event a grand success—(KNO)
